Day Eight: Rest Day

- Write up the blog.
- Clean chain and repair tube + light service.
- Shop and repack new provisions.
- Sleep. Check email if time!
- Consider Queensland.
My first goal is to make it to Coonabarabran. Goondiwindi (Queensland border) is only 300km further on, and there would be time to do that if the weather was right. So far things have not been hopeful.
I had the option of heading up through Burke and across to Moree, then to Goondiwindi, but this road is still closed between Burkje and Brewarrina.
There is also bitumen between Nyngan and Walgett, past the Macquarie Marshes, which I would love to ride. This is still closed in two places, and would involve around 30km of metal road. So it looks like the long way round via ‘Coona if at all.
Surprisingly, all three routes are within 50km of each other!
